Back to school shopping is my favorite shopping season of the year since I work on Christmas and birthday gifts all year long so it’s less painful to the budget. One of the best ways to save another 7% to 10% right off the top (depending on where you live) is to plan ahead and shop on your state’s tax free shopping days. Unfortunately, I’ll be out of town at a conference the first weekend in August so I’ll miss Alabama’s tax free days this year, but I live practically on the state line so I’m planning to do some uniform shopping during Florida’s tax free days instead.
Alabama – August 5 – 7
Arkansas – August 5 – 7
Connecticut – August 21-27
Florida – August 12-14
Iowa – August 5-6
Maryland – August 14-20
Mississippi – July 29-30
Missouri – August 5 – 7
New Mexico – August 5-7
North Carolina – August 5-7
Oklahoma – August 5-7
South Carolina – August 5-7
Tennessee – August 5-7
Texas – August 19-21
Virginia – August 5-7
Thanks, Saving Money in Missouri!

Massachusetts will be August 13 and14 too in 2011.
Thank you Lisa! I’ll get Massachusetts added to the list 🙂
