My 6/12 Publix Trip – $80.84 for $38.63 or 52% Off

It looks like another kid food trip this week doesn’t it? Cuz you know ranch dressing is a food group right? I played hooky from work yesterday (with permission of course) and took the kids to the beach. We had a blast and got a little too much sun while we were at it so I didn’t feel like doing much shopping today but we all enjoyed the Fudgsicles this evening! Today at Publix I bought $80.84 worth of groceries for $38.63 or 52% off after coupons, including my last $5/$30 Winn Dixie coupon. Here are the deals:

My 6/5 Publix Trip – $58.19 for $19.56 or 67% Off

There wasn’t a lot that excited me on sale at Publix this week but I had a $5/$30 Winn Dixie coupon mailer so I made sure to get at least that much in staples like toilet paper and peanut butter. Since the kids have been out of school for the summer we’re going through cereal and peanut butter like crazy so I’m pretty happy with my trip. Today at Publix I bought $58.19 worth of groceries for $19.56, or 67% off after coupons. Here are the deals:

My 5/29 Publix Trip – $85.73 for $39.63 or 54% Off

This is the kids first week out of school for summer break and they’re spending their days at Camp Mamaw – I sure hope my mom survives the summer! We have lots of fun activities and learning plans (cursive writing and cooking) lined up for the summer but I’m already irritated at them since only one went out and helped her with yard work today while the rest stayed “plugged in” and she worked to the point of exhaustion. Yeah, we had a talk at dinner and it looks like I get all the chocolate covered bananas lol! Today at Publix I bought $85.73 worth of groceries for $39.63, or 54% off after coupons and a $5/$40 Winn Dixie coupon from today’s newspaper. Here are the deals:

My 5/21 Publix Trip – $63.76 for $29.88 or 53% Off

We are super excited about our family cookout on Memorial Day but I’m planning on a last minute run to Sam’s Club to get the steaks and fresh veggies. There are some great deals on those things right now at Publix too but I thought it was a little too early to grab the fresh stuff for Monday. In the meanwhile I stocked up on a few staples and quick week night meal stuff. Today at Publix I bought $63.76 worth of groceries for $29.88 or 53% off after coupons. Here are the deals:

My 5/15 Publix Trip – $82.52 for $35.38 or 57% Off

We are having a family cookout on Memorial Day and I’m planning to get the steaks and hamburger at Sam’s Club closer to the day but I’ve already started to stock up on marinades, condiments and paper plates. I was also thrilled to grab a great deal on laundry detergent because I’m down to only a couple bottles left in the stockpile, which makes me nervous considering it’s like a laundry factory at our house. Today at Publix I bought $82.52 worth of groceries for $35.38, or 57% off after coupons. Here are the deals:

Today I just picked up a few staples and drinks and even though I didn’t quite hit half off I’m pretty pleased with my savings. This week at Publix I bought $57.08 worth of groceries for $32.67, or 43% off after coupons. Here are the deals:

Sarah’s Office Depot Trip – $59.08 for $9.19

Everybody I know and every household I’m familiar with have both a computer and a printer, which means at the least they use paper and ink for the printer.  I would also assume that most households also use tape, a stapler, paper clips, some mailing envelopes in addition to other office supplies.

Have you considered signing up for Office Depot’s Rewards Club so you can get money back on your purchases?  In addition to getting a percentage back on your purchases, they also send out coupons for $10/$50 or $15/$75, which come in handy.

Yesterday I took advantage of both methods of discounts at Office Depot – my “Rewards” money and one of the coupons.  Here’s a picture of my “Rewards” dollars I’d earned the previous quarter:

I needed a few basic things, so threw these into my cart:

10 pack scotch tape – $15.99

6 pack mailing tape – $14.99

1 box of 100 6×9″ mailing envelopes – $9.99

1 ream white card stock – $13.99

Total of the above, including tax was $59.08

I first used my $10/$50 coupon that had come in the mail, then gave them my $39.14 Rewards card, leaving me with a total of $9.19.  Now, that’s my kind of a shopping trip!

As a side note – did you know that Office Depot will give you $3.00 on your reward’s card for EVERY ink cartridge or toner cartridge that you take in for them to recycle?  I took 4 in with me yesterday, so I’ll be getting an additional $12 on my next quarterly rewards card.

Sarah’s Quick Trip Into Publix 2/21

My 5 year old grandson loves to spend weekends with Papaw and Mamaw, so we usually pick him up Saturday morning and take him back home Sunday night.  Well, last night we needed milk, so I decided to run into Publix quick for a gallon of milk (Publix is on our way home, so no big deal in stopping for one item).

When I walked in I immediately saw the BOGO bins in front of the store – they’re always located so you’d have to walk into them if you didn’t make a turn to get around them.  The first thing I saw were Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (my favorite food in the world!) – packages of 6 of the 2 per pkg ones, on sale BOGO, so I had no choice but to pick up two of those.  Then a little further down the row of bins I found boxes of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese on sale for .59 each (savings of .74 each).  My quadruplet 4 year old grandbabies LOVE mac & cheese – and most especially if it has SpongeBob on the outside.   Well, I threw 10 of them into my cart (should have bought more I guess at that price, but I was only going in for a gallon of milk)!

My total bill at Publix for last nights’ “quick trip” was $13.28 and my savings was $11.59.  Whoohoo – and I didn’t even have my loaded CouponClutch with me, or I might have been able to save a few more pennies!

Sarah’s Shopping Trips 1/7/2010

Boy Howdy do I feel like I’ve just won a jackpot of some kind with all my savings today.  I started out at Walgreens with a handful of coupons and the list of what I was going to get.  I ended up paying about .55 per can for the 9 cans of Progresso Soup I bought (with coupons and RR’s), then got two bottles of children’s Tylenol Cold with an end price of $1.50 each, AND four bottles of TheraFlu with an end price of .49 per bottle, and that’s in addition to 6 bags of other items.   I ended up with a total purchase price of $135.66 and I paid a net of $42.28  (with $14 in rr’s) — a 69% savings.  I felt like I was buying out the store!

Here is probably the best part for me — Publix had a sale on their AleveD (from $8.29 to $5.99) and I had a $1.00 mfg coupon.  I also had a $5.00 mfg coupon on two Aleve or Bayer products, so I got 2 bottles of the 81 gm bayer aspirin that my husband takes daily.   That’s all I ran in to get today, and here’s my “haul” and cash register receipt……

Check it out!  I used one of my $5 Walgreens rr’s  and ended up paying .13 out of pocket for the AleveD and two bottles of Bayer Aspirin!  Now that’s my kind of shopping.

**Side note here — that AleveD is absolutely the greatest for a cold!  When I feel like I’m coming down with a cold (itchy / runny nose or little headache) I take one in the morning and usually I don’t need to take any more, or at the most one the next morning.  My theory is if you feel a cold coming on, you need to “get it” before “it” gets you!!!
