Motor Oil Matters $50 Visa Gift Card Giveaway

Motor Oil Matters

As the family chauffeur I tend to spend a lot of time in the car and I also put miles on it much faster than the average person. Since the recommended time between oil changes is 3 months OR 3,000 miles, I always end up needing an oil change long before the date on the sticker in the window.

I just recently learned about Motor Oil Matters, or MOM, a new consumer education and industry watchdog program by the American Petroleum Institute, that was established to stress the benefits of quality licensed motor oils and call on to the carpet those who engage in deceptive practices.

They sent me to my favorite local auto shop, Gary Sapp Automotive, to get an oil change and I brought along their handy MOM’s Oil Change Checklist. Whitney, the shop’s friendly service writer, helped me fill it out. I honestly had no idea what viscosity oil was recommended for my vehicle or how to tell what I was getting but it was super simple to ask the right questions with the checklist in hand and they were very happy to help me with it and inform me about my car’s oil and filter needs.

One of the main things that you should know is service-locators can be quick to offer discounted services to people who are looking to reduce their automotive maintenance costs, but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to auto maintenance.  You should make sure that your service provider is pouring quality motor oil into your car before you decide on a cheaper deal. For more information visit the Motor Oil Matters website, check them out on Twitter and follow them on Facebook.

Motor Oil Matters has graciously offered to giveaway a $50 Visa gift card to one lucky winner to get their own oil change! To enter to win just do any or all of the things listed in the Rafflecopter widget below. This giveaway will end at midnight on Thursday, August 1st.
