My $25 Worth of Free Products from WalMart

Well they kinda treated me like a criminal again at WalMart today – I just stood there and smiled while two people flipped through a photocopied list of coupons not to take, but I did end up with $1.88 overage to help pay for the eggs 🙂 The Benadryl Itch sticks (I can use a bunch of these since we live in the woods!) were $2.28 each and I used $5/2 Benadryl product qs, the Tucks Take Alongs were $2.74 each and I used $3/1 printable qs, and the Scotch pads were 84 cents each and I used $1/1 Scotch product qs (may have now changed to a $1/2).  I got some staples like eggs, juice, sugar, two gallons of milk and a box of fudge rounds 😉 and I ended up with $52.57 worth of groceries for $27.57, or 48% off.  That’s pretty good for WalMart and I’m happy with my free stuff 🙂

Note:  It is entirely up to your cashier at WalMart whether you get overage or not on coupons.  In my experience, it usually depends mostly on how busy they are – if people are lining up behind you then you’re likely to get the face amount of the coupon, if it’s slow they’re more likely to take the time to mark the coupons down.  It’s fine with me – either way I get my free stuff, but of course it’s always nice to get the overage too 🙂  And keep in mind, the store will be reimbursed for the FULL FACE AMOUNT of the coupon, plus 8 cents each, regardless of whether they marked it down for you or not.
