A brand new Publix store opened up a little closer to me right before Thanksgiving, but today was my first trip over there.  It’s a huge store so I was a little lost at first, but the people are just as nice so I’m looking forward to cutting a few minutes off my trip each week!  I still had a bunch of Register Rewards leftover from my Walgreens trip on Black Friday that expire this week so I used them up today to take an additional $27.50 off my total.  I bought $55.63 worth of groceries for $4.46, or 92% off!  Here are the deals:

  1. Will your Publix let you use Register Rewards? My Publix stopped taking those a year ago! Where do you live? I thought it was part of the new Publix policy not to take Walgreens or CVS coupons which I think would include register rewards. Good for you if your store takes them! I love your blog!

  2. Hey Judy! My Publix stopped taking Wags store coupons around that time, but continues to take RR (bless them!) I shop in the Daphne, Spanish Fort and Pensacola stores. Where are you located?

  3. My Publix stopped taking RR also. At first the cashier said we don’t take these anymore, but I pointed out that it was a MQ and she took it, but next time they wouldn’t take them. Which I was very disappointed. I am located in North Port FL. Winn Dixie is the same story here, they used to take them, but then changed their policy as well. In fact Winn Dixie changes their policy each time I shopped there, the MGR told me they took them, but the cashier would not take them and told me the MGR was wrong. She said she would take it that time but they would lose money on them, (I guess to make me feel bad). I don’t shop there anymore.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear that! It really bugs me that stores don’t give better training to their cashiers – the ones that act like couponers are ‘stealing’ from the store tick me off no end! If the stores would instruct the cashiers that not only do they get paid back, but they also get an 8 cent fee for handling each coupon then they might realize that it’s in their best interest to treat couponers kindly, at a minimum give them the respect that they give to other customers. It’s just too darn easy to move on and find another store that will treat you properly!
