I've been running pretty hard lately between all the kids usual stuff, participating in a consignment sale last week and getting ready for a yard sale this weekend. It's not surprising that I haven't been getting much sleep, but the lack of energy is a real bummer so I stopped by my local Murphy USA gas station for a QuickStrike energy drink.
Wow – look at all of the many choices available for purchase in the energy drink display! I couldn't even pronounce some of the flavor names, but I think there's definitely something for everyone.
You can even choose from a variety of energy shots, including QuickStrike energy shots. They're actually the exact same price as the larger drinks, $1.59 each or 2 for $2.49, but I much prefer the canned drinks to the shots.
I'm not exactly sure what it is about them, but every energy drink I've ever tried has a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Today I tried the QuickStrike Berry flavor energy drink and while it does have that same aftertaste, I actually enjoyed the Berry flavor and thought it was pretty good. I've had other energy drinks that were so strong I couldn't finish them. Let's be honest, I doubt anyone buys an energy drink for the taste, but I am pretty picky about that and I was pleasantly surprised by the Quick Strike's flavor.
Of course you guys know I'm all about getting the best deal possible so I really enjoy the fact that Murphy USA has so many two-fer deals. Instead of buying one QuickStrike for $1.59, you could choose to buy two for $2.49, a savings of about 22%. Look around while you're at the store and you'll see all kinds of similar deals, like my favorite bagged candy priced at 99 cents a bag or $1.50 for two.
