I’ll have to admit that I’m not the couponer expert that my daughter, Denise, is, however I’m learning. Every once in awhile I get some unexpected savings, and this is one of them!
My husband and I were just making a last minute trip into CVS to get the low dose Bayer Aspirin he needed, and I wanted to take advantage of a Listerine sale and coupon I had. Here is what I ended up with:
Listerine – on sale for $3.99 (and gave $3.00 RR) (and I had a $1.00 coupon)
Low dose Bayer Aspirin – $2.79 and I had a $1.00 coupon
Total bill $7.08 (Incl. tax) — minus my 2 $1.00 coupons equaled $5.08.
Well, my cash register receipt contained the RR of $3.00 from the listerine AND bonus bucks of $5.00 off a $15.00 order (whch had to be used in 3 days). I just couldn’t pass up that “use in 3 days” portion, so I headed to the pharmacy to get some Primatine Mist tablets that we’d be needing shortly. Here’s what I got from the pharmacy:
2 boxes of 24 ct Primatine Mist tablets ($5.79 each) (I also had a $2.00 mfg coupon)
2 boxes of 200ct CVS brand tissues ($1.99 each)
My pharmacy total was $16.17 (incl. tax), but after deducting my $2.00 primatine mfg. coupon, the $3.00 rr and the $5.00 bonus bucks my total paid was $6.17.
I figured I’d made out very well! Now I’m off to eat lunch — the FREE Whataburger that was part of the Twelve Days of Whataburger deals. What part of FREE do I like best? All of it!!
