Final Numbers for April – Saved $548.42

Wow – I am really amazed that we spent so little this month at only $158.25, or nearly $142 under our current monthly budget of $300! We’re down to very slim pickings in the freezer right now, but I’m still trying to use everything up in there so we can give it a good defrost and cleaning.  For that reason we haven’t bought any meat this month so I’m reserving the right to use some of this budget savings the next time Zaycon Foods is bringing beef or chicken to the area. For the month of April we spent $158.25 to buy $706.67 worth of groceries, toiletries, cleaning supplies and gifts, or a savings of 78%! According to the spreadsheet we’ve spent $818.21 so far this year for $4,093.87 worth of stuff, or 80% off. That equates to an average of $205 per month for our family of seven, or less than a dollar a day per person!

  1. Great budget! Im working hard to keep our monthly overall totals low too but leave wiggle room for good stock up sale prices on items we will use like laundry detergent and sunscreen.

  2. Yes – that’s a great way to plan Sheryl! Keep up the good work 🙂
