Whoohoo - I got my chocolate fix on at Publix today, and I hooked the kids up with six boxes of fruit snacks to take to school for snack time (I’ve already hidden the chocolate )  Having to pay $3.29 for a five pound bag of sugar just about killed me, but the hubby called me on the road and told me not to come home without it (or deal with the non-stop griping about a lack of tea).  I ended up with $78.04 worth of groceries for $17.40, or 78% off.  Here are the deals:

Yay – I got everything I need for my sweet tooth today   I was super happy to find the Sweet Moments desserts at Publix since I got a chance to sample them at BlogHer recently and they’re wonderful.  I had a bit of a difficult time checking out though, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to remind you guys that not all stores (even in the same chain) operate the same as they all vary by manager and district.  Of the three Publix stores that I visit occasionally in Pensacola, the one on Nine Mile Road near Target is the most coupon friendly, the one at Nine Mile and Pine Forest Road is pretty coupon friendly, and the one on Mobile Highway – not so much.  The new ad just started in Florida today (I shopped the new ad in Alabama yesterday) so the parking lot should have been full, it would have been at the Fairhope store or either of the other two Publix stores I mentioned with what I like to call the “coupon parade” (all of us who get there bright and early on new ad day with our coupon binders in hand), but the lot was so empty at 9 a.m. that I had to check my watch to be sure they were open.  When I went up to checkout the cashier told me that I couldn’t use my $1 off qs for the Sweet Moments because they were already free with the Publix coupon wyb Pillsbury refrigerated cookies.  I explained that I had always been able to stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons so she went over to get the manager and proceeded to tell him why I couldn’t use all three coupons (the Publix q and I had a manufacturer q for each of the items) to which he replied “let her have them”.  The cashier made sure we all knew she was unhappy about that so I handed the manager my card and asked him to let me know if I was wrong about being able to stack a store coupon with a manufacturer’s coupon because I share all my shops on my blog.  He didn’t really reply but was very nice to me and happily took my card.  At that point I didn’t have the heart to hand over the $3 Register Reward I had planned to use to pay because I didn’t want the cashier to have a heart attack if I got all this for only 80 cents   So, I ended up with $25.12 worth of warm chocolately goodness for $3.80, or 85% off.  Publix is still my favorite store – but I highly recommend shopping at a few different stores in your area to figure out which one(s) work best for you!

We were getting really low on Chef Boyardee in the stockpile so I was very happy to see them go BOGO this week.  I had four $1/5 qs from the June All You magazine so I checked to make sure they had a bunch before I went over and asked the manager what the limit was.  He very graciously let me get 20 cans – he has seen pix of my quad squad so he knows we go through them pretty quickly   I ended up with $73.64 in groceries for $17.54 or 76% off.  Here are the deals:
