Latisse

Maybe it’s because I have fine blonde hair, but I have always felt like I had skimpy eyelashes and I’ve been wanting to try Latisse for a very long time to plump them up and get better length. Latisse is the only FDA approved treatment for inadequate or thin lashes and it helps them grow longer, fuller and darker. It actually requires a prescription to get Latisse, but there are a couple places online approved to sell it if you fill out a short Intake and Informed Consent Form before purchase. That alone will save you the time and expense of visiting your doctor, but for a few more days (through Sunday 6/29) you can also get a fabulous discount through Plum District! One 3ml bottle, enough for 70 applicators or one month of use, generally costs $144 but you can get it for $89; or a 5ml bottle, enough for 140 applicators or two months of use generally costs $199 but you can get it for just $129!

I bought this when they had the deal in early May so I’ve been using it for a few weeks and I’m thrilled with the results! My lashes are definitely longer and fuller and I’m having a blast watching them get even longer and thicker. I took some ‘before’ pictures and I’ll post the ‘after’ pix once I’ve been using it at least a month.

Here is more info on how it works:

  • LATISSE® is the first and only FDA-approved treatment for short, thin eyelashes; designed by Allergan, the manufacturer of trusted treatments including Botox, Juvederm, SkinMedica and Vivite
  • LATISSE increases eyelash fullness, length, and darkness within just 4 weeks of continued use; full results appear in 16 weeks
  • Each 3ml box contains 70 applicators – good for over 1 month of use; each 5 ml box contains 140 applicators – good for over 2 months of use
  • Easy application: simply squeeze a small amount of LATISSE onto the provided sterile brush applicators, and brush onto the base of your eyelashes; directions included with your order

Get Flawless Results With Airbrush Makeup

Airbrushing Makeup

I have a mild case of Rosacea on my cheeks and I go to great lengths to cover it up with makeup. I use a green moisturizer as the first layer, then use a primer on top of that and finish with a powder mineral makeup. This works for me for the most part, but it wears off rather easily during the day and takes quite a few steps to apply.

My dermatologist has told me that I can expect the Rosacea to get worse as I get older and that medications don’t really help. On the other hand, I can get laser treatments to remove the red spots, but he tells me that I’ll have to get them repeatedly as the spots reappear.

I believe that I’ve found an easier alternative though and could get better results by airbrushing makeup on instead of my usual three step process. An airbrush makeup system starts at around $150, but it provides flawless coverage and can cover up Rosacea, acne, and other skin imperfections.

An airbrushing makeup system provides sheer, buildable coverage and its virtually weightless so you can apply a little, or a lot where needed. It also goes on very fast so you can get picture perfect skin in less time than it takes to apply regular makeup.

Friday Faves: Favorite Lipstick

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omcLgJwSs2E

I’m participating in a weekly vlog prompt with Toni from JustStopScreaming.com and several of my other blogging friends, and this week we’ve been asked to talk about our favorite lipstick. I’ve made a couple of confessions in the video and I hope you’ll watch!

I have a basket full of different lipsticks, lip balms and lip stains and the funny part is that many of them aren’t even open and I tend to stick with just one at a time. You’ll have to watch to find out my favorite, but I’d really like to hear about yours as well! Leave me a comment, and don’t forget to come back next week for another fun video. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!

$5 Off $10 or More DHC Order

Valerie Bertinelli just described DHC Deep Cleansing Oil as one of her “beauty must haves” in the September edition of Prevention magazine and that was the first time I’d heard of it, but dang she looks great for her age so I made a mental note.  Well I just found this deal where you can get $5 off orders of $10 or more at DHC through October 31st. You can get free shipping too if your order totals over $85, but there are lots of things I’d like to have below $15 including the small bottle of DHC Deep Cleansing Oil at $12.50, and the Eyelash Tonic that’s on sale for $10.  The DHC products are olive oil based and are said to deliver much more radiant skin.  I’d sure like to give it a try at this price, and I love that all orders also come with four free samples.
