Simple & Delicious Tailgating Ideas

Whether we are headed out to our favorite high school or college football game, or even to our local car races, we always plan ahead for some tasty tailgating snacks. With a big family like ours there are lots of mouths to feed and it never fails, somebody is hungry just as soon as we arrive for the big game. Here are a few of our favorite tailgating tips to help make your game day less stressful and more delicious!

Simple & Delicious Tailgating Ideas

1)  Plan Ahead

Make your list ahead of time and search for any bargains on your favorite go to snacks, like the savings this week at Publix on Oberto Jerky, Keebler® Townhouse® or Club® Crackers, Family Size Sunshine Cheez–It Crackers, Sargento® Snack Bites and more. The crackers, cheese and jerky that we selected make for a good combination of snacks that are easy to pack and travel with, and since everything is basically bite sized we don’t need to worry about cutlery.

2) Pack the night before

If you’re going to a day game be sure to pack the night before so you don’t waste valuable tailgating time and miss out on the good parking spots. Refrigerate your beverages of choice before packing the cooler so the drinks stay colder longer. We also like to freeze bottles of water to bring along as they save space in the cooler and help keep everything else cold.

3) Keep a “Go Box” Handy

If you tailgate regularly it’s a great idea to keep a plastic storage container filled with plates, napkins, moist wipes, and cups ready so you can just grab it and hit the road. We like to include a couple plastic grocery bags in our go box to store trash for disposal and to keep any dirty dishes or utensils separated when we pack up after the game.
