My 6/22 Publix Trip – $77.53 for $11.97 or 85% Off

Some weeks I look at my shopping trip pictures and it's all cereal, toilet paper and shampoo and I realize there aren't a lot of meals there so I figure I must remind people that I do lots of freezer cooking which means I just shop for meat once a month, and we get lots of our produce from a nearby farmer's market.  This week I was able to buy enough entrees for at least eight meals plus two fresh pineapples, a bag of salad and more for under $12, or $1.50 per meal and I was just so proud that I had to do the math 😉  Today I bought $77.53 worth of groceries for $11.97, or 85% off!  Here are the deals:

  1. I’m almost embarrassed to post my grocery trips for some of the same reasons as yours. At least you have several bags of pasta and some sides. My trip this morning was almost all cereal and ice cream toppings.

One of these days I’ll post a picture of some of my freezer stockpile. Like yours, it’s where most of my real food is at. I do a lot of bulk cooking, too.

I still have three turkeys in the freezer from last Thanksgiving’s sales. I bought 6 and JUST cooked the third. O.o

  2. Thanks for sharing Kelly – that makes me feel better! Some weeks it’s all donuts and chips in the picture, but nobody sees that I’m crazy with veggies at home and the freezer is full. Check out my fave baked ravioli recipe that I’ll be using for at least some of this pasta ( – it’s super easy and actually tastes a lot like lasagna.

  3. Btw – thanks for the reminder that I still have a turkey in the freezer too 🙂

  4. I always love coming here and seeing your awesome shops!! You always inspire me to keep on trying my best!! My shops are close to yours.. I bulk buy meat once a month too lol Not yet for freezer cooking.. almost there 80)

  5. Thanks Olenka – you’re the best! Shhhhhhhh, don’t tell anybody, but I’m planning to cheat a little for my freezer cooking this month. I’m going to get a large sirloin from the butcher at Sam’s that I will cut up for meals like beef tips, kebobs, and fajitas, throw the meat into bags with marinade and freeze – no actual cooking this month cuz it’s way too hot and the kids are out of school and underfoot 😉

  6. Thanks for the ravioli recipe!

I posted my HUGE BATCH turkey noodle soup recipe a couple of weeks ago when I made it: One batch lasts a LONG time.

  7. Looks awesome! I’m putting it on the menu for next week 🙂
