DIY Sunscreen & Top After Sun Care Tips
  • 1 tube of unscented and natural lotion in your favorite brand, such as a shea butter body lotion
  • 14 drops pure Helichrysum essential oil
  • 4 drops pure lavender essential oil
  • 2 tbsp. zinc oxide
  • 8 to 10 oz. empty bottle or container, preferable with squirt top
  • (A recycled lotion bottle is perfect.)
  1. Add your ingredients into the empty bottle and mix well. If you have trouble getting it in there, use a funnel, and then use a thin item like a straw to mix it up. This will depend totally on what type of bottle you choose. Shake really well to mix and disperse all the ingredients so it’s well mixed.
  2. To apply: Rub on any areas that will be exposed to sun prior to exposure and reapply every few hours. This can wash off in the water, so you will need to reapply more often if you are swimming.
  3. (TIP: This is approximately about a 20 SPF level, so if you prefer a higher level, add more zinc oxide.)
