My 9/6 Walgreens Trip – $34.58 for $14.48 or 58% Off09.06.10

These certainly aren’t my best numbers for Walgreens, but I was REALLY in need of the eye shadow (this is my fave trio and I’ve been scraping the edges of the old one), and I’m super excited about trying the new Carmex lotion.  I have Keratosis Pilaris (a.k.a. KP – causes rough, dry skin and 1 out of every 2 people have it) so I use lotions with Salicylic Acid or Glycolic Acid in them to smooth my skin, but they can be VERY expensive.  I bought two of the Carmex Healing Cream for rough skin today for 99 cents each and I’m already planning another trip to get some more because that’s the best price I’ve EVER seen for a lotion with Salicylic Acid.  We also went “off list” today cuz my husband insisted on getting our girls each a nail polish since they were on sale for 79 cents each (guess I know what he’ll be doing tonight while I’m gone ;) )  I ended up with $34.58 worth of stuff for $14.48 or 58% off.  I paid with a $10 RR from last week so I was only out of pocket $4.48.  Here are the deals:

Get $4 RR WYB Carmex Healing Cream 4oz or Lotion 5.5oz $4.99
Final Price: 99 cents each!

Get a $2 RR WYB (1) Carmex Moisture Plus Lip Balm .07 ot .075 oz. $2
Final Price: 99 cents each!

Final Numbers For August – Saved $824.6708.31.10

I am still amazed at how much more we’re saving on our monthly budget simply by planning our meals in advance and doing  some freezer cooking.  August was kind of a crazy month for us with school starting on the 16th and me being out of town for a conference right before that so we didn’t have a huge freezer cooking day this month, but there is also still plenty of room left in the budget.  According to the spreadsheet we’ve spent $2,763.36 so far this year and have saved $9,481.54.  That’s an average of $345 per month – we seriously used to spend that every WEEK for our family of seven and got much less!

My 8/30 CVS Trip – $22.54 for $6.88 or 70% Off08.30.10

I’ve been stocking up on toothbrushes here lately so I picked up four to do the deal below but one of them rang up on clearance for 74 cents.  I decided that was a pretty good deal, and it would give me one for each of the kids so I kept it and ran back to get another to finish out the deal.  I didn’t see the difference at first, but if you look closely you’ll see that the green one in the middle of the picture has two rows of yellow bristles and the others don’t.  If you find any at your store you could use the $1/1 q listed below to get some overage ;)   This week I got $22.54 worth of stuff for $6.88, or 70% off after earning $5 ECBs.  I actually used a $7.99 ECB from last week to pay so came out ahead $1.11 for the week!

My 8/23 CVS Trip – $73.19 for $11.17 or 85% Off08.23.10

It is very rare to get a good deal on beef jerky so I was happy to see it on BOGO this week at CVS, but then bummered when I got there and realized that the All You qs (listed below) are for 6.2 oz packages and the BOGO packages are only 3.25 oz.  They had a bunch of the new Beef Steak Nuggets with $1/1 peelies on them so I grabbed some even though I’d never tried them before (I have now and they’re pretty darn good!) and a couple of the regular beef jerky packages had $0.55/1 peelies on them so I got two of those.  I explained to the cashier why my All You qs wouldn’t work as I was trading them for the peelies and she said “well let’s just see if it takes them” and they rang up fine.  Now I’m thinking I might have to go back and get some of my fave teriyaki beef jerky while it’s on sale ;)   I also used a $5/$15 that I got from the scanner and ended up with $73.19 worth of goodies for $11.17 or 85% off.  Here are the deals:
