Well I’m super excited that there was an Apple Market coupon (local Publix competitor) in today’s Pensacola News Journal because there hasn’t been one in the past few weeks and it makes a big difference for my weekly Publix trips. Today’s coupon doesn’t expire until the end of the month so I got an extra copy just in case there isn’t another one next week. This week I was happy to stock up on 7Up and toilet paper as well as a few family favorites like Ore-Ida french fries and New York cheese bread. Today I bought $98.06 worth of groceries for $35.87, or 63% off after coupons. Inexpensive Halloween & Fall Decorations

Although my five kiddos are getting a little too old for trick or treating, they still really enjoy decorating the house and the yard for the season so we always hit our local Dollar Tree first to pick up all our Halloween and Fall Decor needs. Everything is always just $1 so you certainly can’t beat the prices, but they’ve also got lots of great stuff to choose from like these scarecrows and fall signs. I love the “Home Sweet Home” sign for the flower bed beside our front door and the hanging “Harvest” sign would look great nestled inside a wreath on the front door. Some of my favorite finds that I always hit Dollar Tree first to pick up are seasonal place mats like the leaf shaped ones above and craft items so the kids can make some of their own decorations.

This week I was able to take $10 off the top of the grocery bill at Publix because they’re having a deal right now where you get a $10 gift card if you get your flu shot in their pharmacy. Since my insurance covers the shots I’d have loved to get the kids shots there too, but they only do 18 years and up. I was hoping to get a rotisserie chicken for supper but my store was completely out of chickens due to delivery delays caused by Hurricane Irma. Today I bought $50.44 worth of groceries for $14.74, or 71% off after coupons and gift card. Here are the deals:

Make Family Memories with a Walking Tour of Your Town!

Depends

For the Labor Day holiday I took the kids to downtown Pensacola and we went on a walking tour of over a dozen historical locations on the national register. As a single mom of five young kids, these kinds of outings are SO much easier when my mom can come along with us and help out with logistics, bag carrying and kid corralling. Plus, I think it’s so neat to be able to bring her along and make these memories together as a family.

My 9/6 Publix Trip - $69.08 for $30.45 or 56% Off

We are getting prepared here in Pensacola for the possibility of Hurricane Irma heading this way – my mom had to hit five or six stores yesterday before she was able to buy water, of course we will be filling plenty of milk jugs and other containers as well.  Due to the uncertainty about the storm I really didn’t want to put a lot of extra stuff in the freezer so this was a smaller trip than usual and I only bought two boxes of ice cream sandwiches instead of four in case we’re forced to eat them in a hurry (wink).  Today at Publix I bought $69.08 worth of groceries for $30.45, or 56% off after coupons and $5/$20 Meat or Seafood Purchase Target coupon from their ad in Sunday’s paper. Here are the deals:
