While I don’t feel like I have a lot of weight to lose, I would definitely love to be just 2 to 3 pounds lighter so I’d be back at my goal weight of 145 pounds. When I heard about the WeighFast Two-Day Detox by WeightNot I wanted to try it out, not for any potential weight loss, but I was interested in a weekend detox for improved energy. As a single mom with five kids and three jobs I don’t have a lot of extra energy and after a stressful work week I figured I’d be up to the challenge.
Okay, so I’ll admit that I was excited until my WeightNot box arrived, then I started to get nervous. The package came with two containers of Nutriscriptions, one labeled Satisfiber and the other labeled ThinnerHealth, and a mixer/shaker to mix the powder with. The directions call for six servings a day of the Nutriscriptions, mixed with your choice of water, pure fruit juice, almond milk or rice milk. You can’t have anything else to eat or drink, other than water or herbal tea, for two days and you’re supposed to walk 10,000 steps per day.
I walk two to three times a day with a minimum goal of 10,000 steps per day so that part wasn’t a problem for me, however I was very nervous about not being able to eat anything (OMG sweets!) for two days. Of course my late night sweet habit may be the reason why I can’t kick those extra couple pounds so I decided to go for it and see what kind of results I could get. I decided that it would be easier for me to do the two day detox program over the weekend because it would be easier for me to mix the shakes at home than at work. Saturday morning I stepped on the scale, took my waist measurement and mixed my first shake with super cold water. The shake didn’t taste bad at all, but was still a little powdery so the next time around I made the shake with orange juice and it was really good with no powdery taste.
Although it was difficult at times to curb my sweet tooth, I actually never really felt hungry while doing the two day program. The shakes kept me feeling full and I had LOTS of water in between. I was afraid that I’d get cranky before my two days were up (a.k.a. “hangry”) but I didn’t and I could tell that my body was feeling cleansed and my energy level was going up so I stuck with the program. I was shocked when I weighed on Monday morning to see that I had lost 2.6 pounds AND has lost just over an inch from my waistline. Now I don’t know how long the results will last, but I’ve made it back to my goal weight and I can continue to have shakes as needed if it starts to go back up. Now that I know how easy and relatively painless the weekend detox is I recognize that I can do it again anytime, perhaps a couple times a year to rejuvenate and re-energize my body!
