Tasty Tuesday: Fabulous Fresh Fig Recipes

Tasty Tuesday: Fabulous Fig Recipes

When I was growing up I was never a big fan of figs but later in life I bought a house that had a couple beautiful fig trees in the yard and I finally realized just how delicious they can be. I learned that fresh figs are lusciously sweet and there is nothing like their unique texture and taste. Figs are very easy to prepare and they’re also a great source of potassium and dietary fiber, plus they average only about 37 calories each so they’re healthy as well as tasty.

1) Homemade Fig Bars

My favorite way to eat figs as a kid was in a Newton cookie so of course I had to share Weelicious’ recipe for these decadently rich Homemade Fig Bars.

2) Fig Cheesecake

Cheesecake is one of my all time favorite desserts and the cookie crust in this Fig Cheesecake recipe from Good To Know makes this fabulous dessert easy and simple to prepare.

3) Fig Pies with Blue Cheese

These Fig Pies with Blue Cheese from Eat Well 101 are fast to prepare using a packaged crust and are great to use as an appetizer or to serve with a salad for a light lunch or dinner.

4) Cheese Stuffed Figs with Toasted Pecans and Balsamic Drizzle

With such a beautiful presentation these scrumptious Cheese Stuffed Figs with Toasted Pecans and Balsamic Drizzle from Babble are great for entertaining and your guests will never know how easy they were to make!

5) Fig and Bourbon Fizz

Who knew that figs went so well with Bourbon? I found lots of recipes that include Bourbon while researching my favorite fig dishes so felt like I had to include this Fig and Bourbon Fizz cocktail recipe from MyRecipes.

6) Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Figs

This recipe for Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Figs from Taste of Home is a delightful alternative to the traditional fall caramel apples, the almonds and dark chocolate add a nice sweet touch to this dipped fruit dessert.

7) Figs with Prosciutto

I’m a huge cheese freak and in my opinion no meal is complete without some sort of cheese involved so these Figs with Prosciutto and shaved Parmesan from BBC Good Food really excite me and they’re super simple to make in addition to being as pretty as they are delicious.
