I’ll be honest, I really didn’t know what to expect when I was asked to try the new Fiber One Streusel Bars and Chocolate Chip Cookies. I like a nice soft cookie and I kind of thought that with all the extra fiber these might not be as soft, moist and chewy as they turned out to be. I also wasn’t sure if my five kids would even try them, much less like them, but I have been very pleasantly surprised.
A couple of the kids actually fought over who got the last Blueberry Streusel Bar and my daughters and I all really enjoyed the Strawberry Streusel Bars. The kids have even asked to take them and the Chocolate Chip Cookies to school for snacks and I’ve gladly let them do that.
My oldest son asks for a fudge round for a before bed snack practically every night. I’ve tried everything to get him to eat something else, I’ll give him fruit instead and he’ll eat it, then go ahead and ask for a fudge round after – and then it just becomes a big argument. I got him to try a Fiber One Double Chocolate Chip Cookie one night and he absolutely loved it, I’m SO happy that he’s started asking for them now that I went out and stocked up on them, which is awesome because I love them too!
The fudge rounds are 250 calories with 90 calories from fat and they only contain 2 grams of dietary fiber. On the other hand the Fiber One Double Chocolate Chip Cookies contain 120 calories with 40 calories from fat and still have a whopping 5 grams of dietary fiber or 20% of the recommended daily allowance. That thrills me because we’re able to get the chocolate that we’re craving without any of the guilt and the extra fiber keeps us fuller longer so we’re not left wanting more. They’re available all over, including my favorite store Publix, and you can even grab some Fiber One coupons here!
