Love is in the air and I’m really looking forward to Valentine’s Day next weekend so I went hunting for some “sweet” recipes to make for the big day. Some of these ideas would make great gifts and I think the heart shaped pizza is a terrific idea for the family for dinner.
1) Red Velvet Whoopie Pies
These Red Velvet Whoopie Pies from Recipe Girl look delicious and would make great lunchbox treats for the kids or special treats for your sweetie pie – pardon the pun.
2) Melt Your Heart Pizza
We are huge pizza fans at my house and I love the idea of surprising the family with this Melt Your Heart Pizza from Rhodes. Check out the heart shaped pepperonis, aren’t they the cutest idea?
3) Chocolate Ravioli Hearts
Chocolate is always a winning idea for Valentine’s Day and these Chocolate Ravioli Hearts from Hungry Happenings really step it up a notch! They’re super easy to make and the presentation is fabulous.
4) Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Chocolate covered pretzels are not only the ultimate salty-and-sweet treat, but are easy enough to ensure you’ll be spending more time cuddling with your sweetie than laboring the day away in the kitchen and these from Dolcetto Confections are not only pretty but easy to whip up.
5) M&Ms Love Candy Pretzels
Since there isn’t much better than the combination of chocolate and pretzels I also had to include these M&Ms Love Candy Pretzels from Southern Girl Ramblings. The kids would really enjoy helping to make these scrumptious treats!
6) Sweet Heart Pops
You can make these gorgeous Sweet Heart Pops from Spoonful from any leftover candy canes from Christmas and they’d be wonderful gifts for your sweetheart, your kids, or for the kids to give to their classmates.
7) Ice Cream Sandwich Hearts
What a pretty way to enjoy some ice cream with your sweetheart – these Ice Cream Sandwich Hearts from 36th Avenue are a neat way to show your honey your love and they take less than three minutes to make because you simply use a heart shaped cookie cutter and store bought ice cream sandwiches!
