When I was young my parents, my younger brother and I all took a trip to Epcot Center in Orlando the very first year that the park was open. I remember being fascinated by the orange groves and the rows and rows of trees laden with fruit as we drove through that area. All of the rides weren’t open yet that summer, and the park has grown a bunch since then, but I’m still thrilled to be able to say I was there the first season.
To this day, every time we happen to drive through central and south Florida I just love to get a look at some of the area’s beautiful orange groves. It looks like you could easily get lost out there among the rows of trees, but at least you would never starve! I was amazed to learn that Tropicana purchases approximately 11.6 billion oranges from Florida growers each year, but also very excited to learn that they’re giving away a trip for four to Florida that will include an exclusive experience at a Florida orange grove. How cool!
In addition to the Florida trip for 4, Tropicana is also giving away a one year supply of orange juice to 99 winners, in the form of twelve coupons for (12) 59 oz Tropicana Pure Premium® containers. The grand prize winner will get a trip to a Florida orange grove and they can invite three (3) guests for: Round-trip airfare for four (4) to Florida, three (3) night stay at a Florida hotel. To enter the sweepstakes or view the official rules, please visit the “sweeps” tab on Tropicana’s Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/Tropicana
Another neat thing to know is that there are 16 fresh picked oranges squeezed into every 59 ounce bottle of Tropicana orange juice. In addition to being the largest buyer of Florida oranges, Tropicana purchases from groves in 22 different Florida counties, primarily in central and southern Florida. Because of the different microclimates and soil types among those 22 groves, the fruit reaches peak maturity at different times, which allows Tropicana to harvest ripe fruit throughout the entire growing season. That makes for the freshest juice possible and I believe that you can really tell the difference in their delicious final product!
