My 10/5 Publix Trip – $132.80 for $30.58 or 77% Off

I got some awesome $5 off Brawny coupons at BlogHer but they’re regularly priced at $8.99 for a 6-roll package, so I’ve been waiting for a sale and I’m happy to have grabbed two packages for $1.49 each – whoohoo!    It’s against the law at our house to run out of Lucky Charms so I picked up a couple boxes and some goodies for the kids school snacks.  The Klondike bars didn’t ring up at the price listed on the freezer case so I ended up getting one package of those for free under the Publix Promise price guarantee.  I also had a $5/$55 Winn Dixie catalina that I used.  Today I bought $132.80 worth of groceries for $30.58, or 77% off after coupons and $17 RR.  Here are the deals:

  1. I looked at my haul today and decided I didn’t have the energy to unbag, snap a picture, then rebag to shuffle things around to stockpile it.

Funny thing is that I didn’t buy anything that you picked up.

I always stock up on soda when they have the store brand of 2L 2/$1. Today I bought 20 bottles of diet root beer. My son loves it, and I don’t mind at that price.

    I also got:

some Steamfresh broccoli (I had printables),
some cans of tomatoes ($0.93 each for large can without a coupon),
2 large jars of low fat Hellmann’s mayo ($2.50 each after printable + store coupon),
and a few containers of Talenti Gelato ($1.35 after BOGO sale and printable – decent price for a fancy pint of ice cream).

  2. That sounds like a great haul Kelly! I was too whupped after taking pix today to take anything to the stockpile yet – unfortunately I’ll have to be sure and do that (or hide the bags) before the kids see them 🙂 Does the new sale start tomorrow for you? Ours in L.A. started today so probably your next trip will look more like mine! I’m sorry I missed out on the diet root beer though, that’s my mom’s favorite and I try to keep her hooked up with stuff since she won’t let me pay for her babysitting.

  3. Hubby actually pulled together coupons for our trip yesterday to Brookshires and ended up saving 43%!!! He was so proud!! I didn’t take a pic, but I might be able to find the receipt so I can tell you all about it later!!

If you ever want to start a match-up for Brookshires, I could definitely help you out!! Hubby gets the ads early since he works there and he said I could get them ready, just not post them until Tuesday morning. I just don’t know that it really fits on my blog – as random as it is already. 😉

  4. Yay! Way to go hubby – he’s the dude! My hubby will push the cart and go ‘are we done yet’ a few times, but that’s about it 🙂 Thanks for the offer on Brookshire’s, you’re a peach! We don’t have any of those stores in my neck of the woods so I’m going have to pass on your lovely offer since I can’t talk about them knowledgeably, but if you ever decide to do those matchups let me know and I’ll add them to my weekly matchup links!

  5. Very nice shopping trip! Gotta love Publix! 77% Savings is awesome!

  6. I thought i would write you and let you know how much you inspire me I check your page weekly and i have to say Thank you so much!!! I went to Publix this week and after rounding up my coupons and checking everything twice my bill was $336.35 but after coupons i paid $62.35 Thank you very much for your posts!!!

  7. Thanks so much Jana! You’ve made my day 🙂 And what a wonderful trip – you go girl!!! That’s really impressive

  8. Hi Denise! Our house is like yours with the Lucky Charms (either those or Cinnamon Toast Crunch, lol). I was just wondering…I thought Lucky Charms were General Mills, not Kelloggs…so are they on sale for 1.99 also? I will be going this evening before the sale ends.

  9. Yes – you’re right, Lucky Charms are General Mills! Sorry about that, but they are on sale for $1.99 this week 🙂 That’s so funny cuz my kiddos will only do Lucky Charms or Cinnamon Toast Crunch, glad it’s not just the law at my house!
