Wow – I’m amazed that we came in below $200 total for the month, but I give full credit to Zaycon Foods for the 40 pounds of chicken they brought me last week. Typically what I do is plan a freezer cooking day once or twice a month (depending on our schedule), and use any “excess funds” in the monthly budget to buy meat in bulk at Sam’s Club or on B1G1 sale at Winn Dixie then put together a bunch of meals for the month all at one time. This month we came in $212 under our monthly budget of $375! For the month of July we spent $163.23 to buy $671.71 worth of groceries, toiletries and cleaning supplies, or a savings of 76%! According to the spreadsheet we’ve spent $1,539.13 so far this year for $7,729.67 worth of stuff, or 80% off. That equates to an average of $220 per month for our family of seven, or about $1/day per person!
