My 8/23 CVS Trip – $73.19 for $11.17 or 85% Off

It is very rare to get a good deal on beef jerky so I was happy to see it on BOGO this week at CVS, but then bummered when I got there and realized that the All You qs (listed below) are for 6.2 oz packages and the BOGO packages are only 3.25 oz.  They had a bunch of the new Beef Steak Nuggets with $1/1 peelies on them so I grabbed some even though I’d never tried them before (I have now and they’re pretty darn good!) and a couple of the regular beef jerky packages had $0.55/1 peelies on them so I got two of those.  I explained to the cashier why my All You qs wouldn’t work as I was trading them for the peelies and she said “well let’s just see if it takes them” and they rang up fine.  Now I’m thinking I might have to go back and get some of my fave teriyaki beef jerky while it’s on sale ;)  I also used a $5/$15 that I got from the scanner and ended up with $73.19 worth of goodies for $11.17 or 85% off.  Here are the deals:

  1. WOW you were very lucky that the cashier said “well, let’s just see if they ring up – most cashiers I’ve dealt with would rather just tell you “no, they won’t work” and never even try them. Good for you on the deals!

  2. Wow…that was a fun trip. I am wondering if you buy multiple “All You” magazines or how you had lots of the Q’s from the All You?

  3. Hey Sherry – I have a subscription to the All You magazine so I get one pretty quickly, then I buy 3 extras at WalMart once they come in to the store because they usually have higher value qs than the newspaper inserts. I recently tried to pay for two additional subscriptions and instead of sending them to me they added two years to my current subscription, sooooooooo – if you want to subscribe to more than one at a time you’ll need to use different names, they tell me that will work even if you use the same address ;)

  4. Those 5/15’s are amazing, but I never get them. I”m happy if I ever get any $/$$ coupons. you really made out!!

  5. I think this is the first $5/$15 I’ve gotten in 100 years :) sure was nice!
